XDQ: 22/9/2000

This safety recall concerns Xsara and Xsara Picasso vehicles built between July 2000 and
September 2000. These vehicles may be fitted with one or both front pivots on which the
machining of the ball joint pinch bolt drilling does not conform to specification. The recall
operation consists of a check of both pivots on the vehicles concerned and replacement of
one or both pivots if necessary.

XED: 30/01/2001

This service recall operation concerns certain Xsara, Xsara Picasso, Xantia, Berlingo and
Synergie HDi vehicles on which the high-pressure injection pipe unions may not be
sufficiently tight. This results from compression of the union assembly and can give rise to
Diesel fuel odours caused by seepage at the union and the possibility of a leak. These
vehicles are being recalled in order to retighten the high-pressure injection pipe unions.

XGH: 26/07/2001

This service recall concerns certain Xsara Picasso vehicles built in June 2001 (vehicles
without the satellite navigation option) on which malfunction of the instrument display panels
may cause information to be not visible or only partly visible. The original instrument panel on
all of these vehicles is to be replaced, regardless of whether any defect is currently
noticeable.

XJK: 13/02/2002

This safety recall concerns right hand drive Xsara Picasso vehicles, on which there is a risk
that the clips retaining the articulation clevis pins in the brake relay linkage may not have
been fitted correctly..

XJX: 11/06/2002

When driven, for the first few miles, the vehicles concerned could present a risk of the
dislocation of the turbo air supply line.

XLC: 9/08/2002

same as XJK

XNL: 25/03/2003

BSI update

XNP: 30/05/2003

This Safety Recall concerns certain Xsara Picasso vehicles not equipped with additional
heating; to prevent any electrical anomalies, a correction of the configuration of the electrical
system is required.

XQF: 6/08/2003

The vehicles concerned are fitted with a central airbag ECU on which some of the wiring
connections may not be correct.

XQX: 24/10/2003

The attachment of the accelerator pedal to its support, may not conform to specification.

XRK: 5/03/2004

The vehicles concerned are equipped with a fuel tank pump, which may be unreliable. This
could result in it being difficult or even impossible to start the engine.

XRL: 9/01/2004

The vehicles concerned have been fitted with an instrument panel, which could display
wrong information.

XSX: 7/06/2004

The original software downloaded on the injection ECU of the vehicles concerned could
generate an excessive vibration of the motorised butterfly, and in very rare cases cause the
failure of the butterfly upper stop. In these very rare cases, the engine goes to back-up
mode.

XTF: 18/06/2004

The vehicles concerned have been fitted with a fuel injection high-pressure sensor harness
connector, which has unsatisfactory crimping. This failure could cause the engine
diagnostic light to come on.

XTS: 21/07/2004

The vehicles concerned could have been fitted with a starter motor where the positive
battery cable has not been positioned correctly. This defect if present could cause the
starter motor to malfunction.

XUA: 5/01/2005

The operation of the motorised throttle butterfly on the vehicles concerned may be affected
by the vibrations of the inlet air distributor. That in turn could trigger the emergency mode
for the engine and cause the engine diagnosis warning lamp to come on.

XUU: 25/04/2005

The diesel fuel return pipe on the injection system for 1.6 HDI (DV6) engines carries a risk
over time of seeping due to non-conformity in manufacture. The operation consists of
changing this pipe.

XUV: 7/02/2005

It is necessary to fit a plastic clip on the electrical harness for the window switches on the
vehicles concerned. This will guarantee the correct positioning of the harness in the
dashboard and prevent the harness from suffering abnormal wear which could cause
random malfunctioning of the electric windows.

XUW: 3/05/2005

The diesel fuel injector control harnesses and injector return pipes on the vehicles
concerned require to be fitted with additional protection sleeves, in order to prevent the risk
of wear over time.

XWC: 13/07/2005

In countries where salt is used extensively on the roads in winter, you are requested to fit a
suspension cup on each front suspension spring. This cup will prevent any risk of the spring
making contact with the vehicle tyre in the exceptional event of the spring breaking.

XXH: 20/01/2006

The vehicles concerned may have a communication fault between the BSI and the
instrument panel. This fault appears randomly, making the warning lamps in the instrument
panel come on. It requires downloading of a new software version into the BSI.

YAZ: 19/02/2007

On the vehicles concerned, the coolant circuit bleeding plug situated on the heater matrix
pipe has been made with a material which is unsuitable for the coolant. This non-conformity
will result in a coolant leak through the plug. The operation consists of replacing the plug.

YBA: 19/02/2007

On the vehicles concerned, the coolant circuit bleeding plug situated on the heater matrix
pipe has been made with a material which is unsuitable for the coolant. This non-conformity
will result in a coolant leak through the plug. The operation consists of replacing the plug.

YCD: 9/05/2007

On the vehicles concerned the engine coolant temperature sensor may be cracked.
This crack can cause illumination of the coolant temperature warning lamp and could in
exceptional cases cause malfunction of the engine.
